No better place for delicious, Mediterranean-with-a-twist food. Menu changes depending on the season , but there are a few must-try dishes you have to try, including the burger with kavourmo-patty, the fries with truffle oil, the grilled tuna steak and the pork shank. Nice beers from Greek micro-breweries and excellent cocktails to follow your meal. Importantly, this is one of the few places in Thessaloniki where smoking is not permitted.

Koi Sushi Bar

I've been there a couple of times and there is not a single one that i left unsatisfied. They have nice combinations if you'd like to try a bit of everything but what tops my list is their smoked eel nigiri.
Authentic, Italian thin-crust pizza straight out of their wooden oven with creative combinations of toppings. Great variety, quick and efficient service. Perfect for late nights, as they stay open until 2-3 am.

Lola is one of those places where delicious food, a great atmosphere, fantastic ouzo and warm-hearted people are combined. Lola & Antonis, both of whom i personally know, took over this traditional taverna from their father and have managed to transform it in a couple of years to one of the most talked-about places in Thessaloniki city centre. Lola has also recently featured in TV shows discussing the town's food scene. For starters try the "Antonis' pita" and the "Thea" (which is the Greek word for Goddess) salad. For mains i blindly recommend the shrimp pasta ("garidomakaronada") and the perfectly cooked sardines ("sardeles") and say a big yes to the complimentary dessert!

Absolutely recommended in case you are looking for upscale dining in a top-notch restaurant. The ambience is elegant and fantastic, the quality of ingredients and level of cooking similar to other high-class European restaurants, the personnel knowledgeable and attentive (without being overwhelming or patronizing) and service is excellent. Naturally, you get what you pay for, meaning that level of prices is on par with what is being offered. There is also a very interesting wine list with top Greek wines.

The new owners were respectful of the previous decoration, the cuisine is interesting and affordable and the restaurant is next to Galerius' palace, in one of the most historic parts of Thessaloniki.

While Mexican tastes are toned down a bit to suit the European palate the quality and quantity of the food offered is satisfying. Well recommended if you want to have a break from Greek food and sip down on some nice cocktails.

Highly suggested if you want to have a coffee in a nice setting or sip on a beer or cocktail later in the evening/night with great tunes playing in the background.

I find the interior design to be particularly aesthetic, giving this local spot a cozy atmosphere, which combined with everything else will leave you satisfied.

2 FilippouThis is a little gem if you are looking for a place to casually and (most importantly) slowly sip on a nice drink after a long day of exploring the city, or to wrap up an already relaxing day. It is also conveniently situated, only a couple of minutes away from the flat, which makes it even more difficult to resist it.
Yet another little gem in the neighborhood, the Pikap (translates to turntable in English), is a cozy small bar with all kinds of Berlin vibes to it. They usually have guest DJs on Saturdays, so might be worth checking it out if you are around on a Saturday and are looking for a place to have a few drinks, or a nightcap. They also have a multi-purpose room in the basement, which sometimes is used for screenings or small scale art exhibitions so might be worth checking out if there's anything running on the day there if you go.

According to information available online they are open Wednesday - Sunday from 8:00am to 15:00 with the admission ticket being EUR 3 (normal) and EUR 2 (concession). Combine your visit with a coffee at one of the nearby cafes or grab a scrumptious handmade slice of pizza from Αl Caminetto which is a few steps around the corner.

Getting Around
One of many local car rental companies operating on Aggelaki street. Only a 15-20mins walk from the flat, Aggelaki str. offers a good number of options if you are interested in renting a car for one or more days to move around town or venture to the areas surrounding Thessaloniki, like Halkidiki, or beyond.
