The old Railway Trail is steps away from Pool House front door. You can walk or ride a bicycle (rentals available) all the way to the Royal Naval Dockyard, stopping at beautiful scenic spots along the way, or for miles towards the East on the railway trail, crossing the main road only occasionally.

It's beautiful - great for gardening enthusiasts and bird watchers. The sensory garden is amazing. Great for a picnic after you visit the Masterworks Museum, which is one of our national treasures!!

Art Galleries, shopping, pubs, restaurants, Snorkel Park, Mini Golf, and the Bermuda Maritime Museum (must see Graham Foster's mural of Bermuda History there, and plan to spend at least a couple of hours at the Museum), Dolphin Show and more, all at Dockyard. And getting there can be an adventure. This is a day trip from Pool House. Moped or bicycle there, or take a bus. If you moped or bike, you can explore small roads, byways in Somerset along the way.... Definitely good for one day of your holiday!

Getting Around
Oleander Cycles is located in several places, and you can arrange your moped rental on line in advance. Or call them. Then when you arrive, they will come pick you up, take you to their rental location, give you your riding lesson, make sure you're OK, and send you on your way.... If you are not a mo ped person, the bus and public transportation system is excellent, and there are also excellent and friendly taxi drivers. We always recommend the bus during the day, and taxis after dark... and sometimes on weekends, as bus service is not as frequent on weekends and holidays. Three and five-day public transportation passes are available at the Bus Terminal in Hamilton, and the Ferry Terminal in Hamilton.

Sightseeing
The views are incredible! You can walk to the Lighthouse from Pool House (there's a restaurant there called The Dining Room, so if you time it right, you can stop in there for lunch after you visit the Lighthouse, or before, or dinner....). You should also definitely see beautiful and famous Horseshoe Bay, the old towne of St. George -- that is another entire day trip. You can take either the bus the whole way, or bus to Hamilton, then take the "fast ferry" which runs during the summer, to St. George's. Must see the Heritage Wharf Museum there. Lots of different shops and good restaurants there.
