Try among food: arroz de marisco (rice with sea food); fried shrimps with garlic and herbs; grilled sardins; grilled dourada ; vinho verde (young sparkled wine).
I would call it more a «TAPAS» place (snacks).
Good place to relax with a glass of wine (take a white young wine (vinho verde) or strong sweet Porto, which is good for chilly evenings. And accompany the dring with traditional portuguese starters (tapas). I recommend to try the octopus salad, fried small peppers (not chilly), melted camamber with nuts and honey, or fried cuttlefish (lullinhas); or you can try «hamon» which will be cutted right in front of you. If you order «chourico» (local sausages), it will be fried in front of you on the special plate.
Atmosphere is fantastic, live music nights, good location.(naer river side, parking is near).

And accompany the dring with traditional portuguese starters (tapas). Extraordinary place! The owner is the talanted young chef ! His food is delicious, the interesting combination of herbs, spices, see food. The place by itself is really worth to see: the secret garden right inside the bar, with big tree in the middle of the bar, hand made decorations in indian style, ancient fotos, collection of cups and pots. Amazing, artistic bar! Live music show every Sunday.
I recommend to try a chocolate browny as a sweet thing.

You want to visit the real fisher man place? Go to Ze Morgadinho and you will really feel, that you are in Portugal! The restaurante is located right in the river side. One of the best places to eat the fish. Place is simple and cosy.

You want to have really delicious see food? Go to this restaurante! Very delicious fresh see food! Friendly and warm service, good location. Food is absolutely delicious. Try Cataplana with shrimps and bacalhao ( enough for 2-3 persons).
Amazing place for family lunc/dinner! The restaurante is located righ in the mountains (Monchique). The terrace of the restaurante has a view on the green hills of the mountains. Super delicious food and high quality service.
Better order the meat food , although , fish will also be good.
