Parque Juarez—also called the French Park—is the largest green space within San Miguel’s city center. It’s got fountains, winding paths, basketball courts, and public classes in tai chi, yoga, and zumba. The annual Candelaria plant sale that takes place in February is based here, as is the La Calaca festival in November. It’s quiet, peaceful, and safe. White egrets nest in the trees here despite municipal attempts to drive them out. Just above the park is Chorro, a steep winding street that runs past a row of public washing basins that are still being used. Plaza Civica constructed in 1555 was the original center of the town before the Jardin Principal. A large statue of a general Ignacio Allende on a horseback is located at the plaza. He was the hero of the Mexican War of Independence.

Take Callejón del Chorro, the track leading directly downhill from here, and turn left at the bottom to reach El Chorro , the spring where San Miguel was founded (note the fountain and public washing tubs).
El Mirador is a place both day and night offers one of the best views of San Miguel de Allende, is a must to take pictures and take a nice souvenir of the city point.
