Worth looking at - incredible mountain- brought to fame by Prince Charles's book, 'The old man of Lochnagar'. Takes an ordinary peson like me 7 hours. Fantastic. Need good boots.

So many Munros ( mountains over 3000ft) and smaller hills and mountains. Excellent for scenery. Look out for Eagles, Dippers, Osprey's, deer.
Local Munros are Lochnagar, and Broad Cairn,both near Loch Muick.

Food Scene
This is my favourite! Does lovely cheap food, in a relaxing lounge with a variety of sofas, chairs, bar stools. The walk there is lovely as you walk out of Ballater to get there, takes about 25 minutes to walk. Cheap as chips!
