This place is lovely but very popular in the Summer Months as it has tables outside overlooked by the splendid Abbey. It is best to plan ahead and prebook at these times.
The menu is varied and well thought out and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The menu is varied and well thought out and the staff are friendly and helpful.
This is a great place to eat breakfast (They do a great bacon butty but there are veggie options). Or lunch overlooking the river.
There is also a small gift shop and local delicacies are on offer.
If you run out of supplies of milk and bread you can buy this here. Also take away sandwiches.

There are several official We Valley walks which go from and through Tintern (See Maps). All of which have individual appeal and the opportunity to view natural beauty rare birds and wildlife. Excellent photo opportunities.

You may not wish to try the whole 177mile trail along the Welsh boarders but it is there if you cannot resist. The 8-9 mile hike from Chepstow to Tintern is challenging enough. Or you could take a climb to Devil's Pulpit for a great view over the Abbey.
