Vegetarians - ask about the vegetarian burger. It isn't always on the menu, but you won't regret ordering it if it is available!!

Rated one of the best restaurants not only in Zihuatanejo, but in Mexico, classic Mexican dishes will bring you back for more every time! Breakfast and lunch only; within walking distance (roughly 5-6 blocks). One of our favorites. Don't forget to ask about the amazing cinnamon rolls, baked with love by Carmelita's daughter Carmen!

*NOTE: For some reason, the location comes up as Las Gatas, but it is indeed at the far end of La Ropa beach!

A family-run seafood favorite, Garrobo's is one of the oldest restaurants in Zihuatanejo. And on our top-ten list for ourselves! Their red snapper grilled whole with garlic is the best! (you can always ask the to not serve with the head, if you prefer)

Sightseeing
Seeing the area from a beautiful catamaran is such an incredible way to experience the area! and the crew is incredible! We as locals do this ourselves, so don't think this is just for "tourists". The incredible views, super-comfy boat (don't worry about it rocking like a small boat!) and the amazing crew make this a must-do! We can book this (or anything else) for you, as we also run a small travel agency!

We as locals do this ourselves, so don't think this is just for "tourists". The incredible views, super-comfy boat (don't worry about it rocking like a small boat!) and the amazing crew make this a must-do! We can book this (or anything else) for you, as we also run a small travel agency!
Parks & Nature
This is the place to go for a day of bird watching, see the crocodile reserve (see lots of turtles and iguanas as well!), and hang out for the day to surf or watch surfers on the beach. Or - take a water taxi to Ixtapa Island!

Every Saturday, the Eco-tianguis is the best and only place to go for organic greens, etc. Often farm-fresh eggs, fruit and nopales can be found here, as well as local honey and other products. Our favorite, besides the greens, is the baked goodies by Helmut- formerly of the famous Golden Cookie Shop! just make sure to get there between 9:00-9:30am before all the good stuff is gone!

Our favorite, besides the greens, is the baked goodies by Helmut- formerly of the famous Golden Cookie Shop! just make sure to get there between 9:00-9:30am before all the good stuff is gone!

Flamingos Casa Artesanal is a store after our own hearts. They only sell artisanal clothing and products made in Mexico, mostly in from the state of Guerrero. You can rest assured you are not getting anything from China or India, which cannot be said for the local tourist market. In Centro, only a few blocks from the house!
