Poplar Forest is open daily from 3/15-12/30 (closed on Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), from 10 AM- 5 PM (last tour leaves at 4:00 p.m.).

You can't go wrong parking your car on a Saturday and just walking downtown Lynchburg. Great local produce and amazing little boutique, antique shops, monuments. Amazing eats and friendly people. This will consume your Saturday if you didn't have plans.

The Maier Museum is a small treasure adjoining Randolph College. Holds the best American art outside of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond and The National Gallery in Washington, DC. In fact it orginated as a repository for our nation's finest American paintings during the Cold War! It is a showcase of this country's changing artworks from the 19th century through the present day.
