The lake is also known as Carcassonne beach and is a 10 minute car drive or a longer bus route away. It is a great place to cool off but gets very busy in summer.

My favourite time to visit is after dark when there are fewer people and a more magical atmosphere. To appreciate the scale of la cité walk in between the 2 sets of walls and notice the different ages of stonework. See if you can spot the unique tower with a chimmney (one of the 52).
From Easter to Halloween you can take a cruise down the canal from the port in front of the station. There are plenty of stretches to walk beside too.

Only a couple of minutes walk away and is one of the 2 shops the closest to Les Jardins Secrets. It is closed Sunday pm and all day Monday. On the other days it closes between 13h and 16h.
