Lovely, peaceful, lots of desert native plants and animals. A good place to visit when the weather is not too hot, or go first thing in the morning in hotter months. Lots of activities from December through March.

Good hiking along native palm trees, several different trails offer variety and challenge depending on time and skill. Especially nice if there has been any rain at all during the winter months. The area (like all of Coachella Valley) is very hot in the summer, if intending to hike then - bring copious amounts of water and a mobile phone will full charge.

Interesting history about the estate created by the founder of TV Guide and former ambassador Walter Annenberg. There are two sections, one is free and you can walk around nine acres of over 50 species of arid landscape plants, perfectly groomed, surrounding a visitor center. The other section is reservation only and charges >$100. Recommend calling before driving over there as the hours seem unpredictable.
