In the 1930s, the administrative district of Seoul was expanded and the urban structure was transformed into modern. Housing management companies bought large parcels and forests from Bukchon and built small and medium sized hanoks in the place. They are now living in hanok residences in Kanghwa-Dong 11 and 31, Samcheong-dong 35, Were all formed at this time.
