Downtown Asheboro has a number of really good, unique locally owned restaurants. Downtown is a nice area to just walk around too!
It has the best food in town, great atmosphere, great coffee and dessert too. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights they feature our 100% grass fed beef in an amazing burger. you must try!

We really like the food here. In a house turned restaurant. A chef that cooks elevated southern food and sushi got together with a Caribbean chef. Thus you get sushi and Caribbean food. The sushi is really good.

Good BBQ place. Reminds us of Texas smoked and tender BBQ. Try the brisket.

Pizza is good. We don't love the atmosphere but generally get it to go.
If you like Italian food this place has good food and a nice atmosphere. It is very large so waiting is not a problem and would be kid friendly.

218 S Fayetteville StThis is a local micro brewery. It has a nice fun atmosphere. Some nights they have games other nights live music. Good beer and I believe they might serve wine. They also allow you to order and bring food from restaurants nearby in so you can have dinner there also. We like to order from Time Square pizza, take it there, and have beer and pizza.
It has a nice indoor and outdoor area. They have a large selection of wine and it is a really nice place to go hang out and have a drink.

Parks & Nature
This is one of my favorite hiking spots. It is pretty and a moderate or nice and gentle hike. The Birkhead mountains are thought to be the oldest mountain range in North America. So it is known for day hikes and trail running.

This is a really nice restored theater in downtown Asheboro. They have different theater offerings throughout the year. I have been to a variety of offerrings and they were all really good. If you have the time and something is playing it is worth a visit.

Because of the rich clay soil and the creative energy, Seagrove is home to a large number of potters, pottery stores, and pottery festivals. Each potter has a unique process, design, and look to their pottery. It is fun to see them all. The North Carolina Pottery Center is a good place to start. It displays works from a variety of potters in one place. Then you can choose who you would like to visit.
Some places have times where you can watch the pottery being made or fired in the kiln. My favorite is Ben Owens pottery.

I like to play tennis there, go to the spa, and downtown Pinehurst has small uniques shops that are fun to visit. It is a nice way to spend the day even if you don't golf.

This is a great place to visit and take the kids. Depending on the time of year you can pick berries or attend an event they are having. It is a very beautiful property.
