You can take the bike on the train, if you don't want to get too physically fit during your holidays.. :-)
Absolutely best place to rent a bike! Really nice people, and the place is close to Fisketorvet station - served by the A-line connecting my home to central Copenhagen.

If the weather is nice, the beach is very close. Either grab your bike and have a 10 mins trip through forest/meadows before reaching a nice beach that is safe for children.
If you don't have a bike, take the train one stop to Brøndby Strand. The beach is a 10 mins stroll from there
