This South Austin staple finally opened a second location that's a 10-15 min. walk from us. There's a fun outdoor area that's perfect for the kiddos (and is needed--there's often a wait for seating). Even though it's a pizza place, the sandwiches are also quite delicious. They don't deliver, but it's worth the short walk.

New York style bagels!!! This is an exciting new development in Austin, and we get to have it so nearby. They are a 10-15 min (ugly) walk and often have a long line on weekends--but it goes quickly. Easy to pick up and take back to the house or eat in.

5501 N Lamar BlvdNew York style bagels!!! This is an exciting new development in Austin, and we get to have it so nearby. They are a 10-15 min (ugly) walk and often have a long line on weekends--but it goes quickly. Easy to pick up and take back to the house or eat in.
A long walk or a short bus ride/drive, Quack's has great and fresh baked goods daily. The food is so fresh that I once got into an argument with someone behind the counter who wouldn't sell me something that was seconds beyond the 3 hour mark or some such craziness. I wanted it so badly! I was willing to risk food borne illness, but no, they weren't having it. It's also near a fun park with lots of shade for the kiddos.

The food is so fresh that I once got into an argument with someone behind the counter who wouldn't sell me something that was seconds beyond the 3 hour mark or some such craziness. I wanted it so badly! I was willing to risk food borne illness, but no, they weren't having it. It's also near a fun park with lots of shade for the kiddos.
