You may be inclined to travel back to Port Hawksberry for supplies, some fast food and other necessities from bigger chains but may I suggest the other direction for 25 minutes towards this nice little community for groceries and supplies. It can include a nice day with ice cream, a friendly local pub named MacBouch Beverage Room & Grill that provides simple, unpretentious environment except for the local musical talent that tends to gather their on certain nights , museums . You may be surprised of her rich history first as a Portuguese trading and fishing post named Santo Pedro in the 16th century. O f course as always hiking along some scenic trails. Oh, not to mention Inn on the canal for some fine dinning / entertainment on some nights. Also, national historic St. Peter’s canal connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Bras d’Or Lake UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Pick up your groceries but buy the ice last as you will want to spend the day.
