Bring summer clothes March-November
It is warm here in Texas! We do have some cool days in the winter months but you might be surprised how many months it is warm here! It does get humid and while Katy has very few mosquitos in most developed areas, if you're out at night and in a vegetated area, you may want to bring bug spray.

Texas driving
Don't be surprised if someone passes you going well over the speed limit. It just happens here. Use the left most lane on the freeway for passing only. Traffic coming onto the freeway will not adjust their speed to get on and expect you to help them out get over. I disagree with this notion, but it is what it is. Toll roads have tolls! Get an EZ pass to use them (order online) or don't get on them because you won't have a chance to get back off. If you mess up, you can go online and pay the toll pre-emptively to avoid additional fees.
