Sightseeing
The sanctuary of Monte Senario is one of the most important and ancient shrines of Tuscany and is located on the homonymous hill, north of the city of Florence. It was erected in 1234 by seven Florentine nobles.
From the hill there is a magnificent view of all the countries of the Mugello.
The church was built in 1412 and is where the brothers produced liquor in their distillery in the convent, heir to the ancient pharmacy, that was active for centuries and benefited the local people and pilgrims. In particular, during 1865 to produce a liqueur with extracts of Spruce.

Parks & Nature
During the summer it is a must visit to the Bilancino lake which is a short distance from the Outlet of Barberino, in the Tuscan countryside to relax after shopping.
It is easily reached by car thanks to the private parking lot a few meters from the lake. There you can rent sunbeds, canoes, paddle boats and go swimming. There are also bars and restaurants situated on the beach!

During the summer it is a must visit to the Bilancino lake which is a short distance from the Outlet of Barberino, in the Tuscan countryside to relax after shopping.
It is easily reached by car thanks to the private parking lot a few meters from the lake. There you can rent sunbeds, canoes, paddle boats and go swimming. There are also bars and restaurants situated on the beach!

For horse lovers the nearest riding school is in Vaglia. I recommend a nice horse ride during the summer. Not recommended for those who hate the insects.

The whole route, in the green valley protected by the Apennines, offers a favorable climate and beautiful landscapes.
