Food Scene
Asturias - It has a really nice restaurant, not expensive, where you can have soup, salads, sandwiches and toasts (there's also a daily main course) and really nice natural juices.
From the house you can get there by walking Calçada da Ajuda down to Santini's and taking the tram 15 in the opposite direction to the center of Lisboa. Get out at the last stop - impossible to miss the garden and old small Palace.
Children can play in the grass while you relax, and there's a small museum in the small Palace within the premisses.

Probably the best ice cream in Lisboa :) and just under 10 minutes walking from the house, how cool is that!

LxFactory is not just for food, but also art and culture and shopping and just hanging around! One of my favourite places to take out foreign friends while visiting Lisboa. You should not miss the brunch, the different design shops, the amazing bookstore (in the book store, visit the amazing almost living sculpture in the upper levels!) and the weekend markets (depends on the weekend what is on, look on the web for details!)

Getting Around
Stop for Tram 15. From here you can go all the way to the center of Lisboa. You should get out at Cais do Sodré. From there you can just walk down to downtown or take the Subway (Metro) for most points in LIsboa

Here you can catch the train east into Lisboa - Cais do Sodré (though for that I much prefer the TRAM 15) or west to Cascais (a great day trip). A boat ride to Trafaria - Porto Brandão also gives you a cheap unique view of Lisboa (the boat harbour is... go figure, near the river!, but the map does no allow me to put a location there! Just walk over the bridge to cross the road and train line and you'll be there

Here you can catch the train east into Lisboa - Cais do Sodré (though for that I much prefer the TRAM 15) or west to Cascais (a great day trip).
