Take the Wagonga Scenic Drive from the Princes Highway north or south of Narooma, and it will lead you down to Wagonga Inlet and this picturesque picnic area. This is an ideal spot to sit back and enjoy a picnic lunch, with spectacular water views.
There are a couple of short tracks from the picnic tables to the waters edge. The remains of the old jetty are still there, but this area no longer accommodates the large steamers as it did during the latter part of the 1800s.

Come spring, Moruya Heads is enlivened with wildflowers, including coastal wattle, banksia and pittosporum for you to feast your eyes on. Racing in Moruya commenced around 1870. For many years, the races were run at the “old” Moruya Racecourse in the centre of Moruya township, where the Showgrounds and Golf Course are now situated.
The current Racecourse at Donnelly Drive was opened in 1985. In 1987, the Moruya Jockey Club Ltd was incorporated as a public company under Articles of Association, which hold true today.

Only 10-minutes South of our farm, Bodalla Dairy Shed is a family owned and operated dairy farm that produces milk, cheese, yoghurt, milkshakes and icecream with unique Australian flavours.
It all started when Sir Thomas Sutcliffe Mort arrived in Bodalla. Nestled between the sea and the mountains, with a river, lots of rain and sea mist he saw the perfect country for dairy cows. Thomas said on arriving, “every morning you wake up with dew on your shoes,” which could only mean one thing...fresh grass all year.
150 years later, we felt the same as Thomas did when we first visited Bodalla. Coming from a 6th generation farming family from arid regions, we were looking for a special farm that could honour the memories of our teenage son Justin. Since moving to Bodalla we have nurtured our farm by planting more than 15,000 trees encouraging the birdlife and wildlife to return and provide shade for the cows.
We think the care has paid off as our unhomoginised full cream ‘living’ milk was recognised as the best in NSW in 2018. So we felt chuffed and proud about that. We now make fresh living yogurt, soft cheeses and ice cream daily in our micro-dairy for visitors and locals to watch and try.

Walking Tracks
Pigeon House Mountain Didthul walking track is one of the best walks in Morton National Park and on the south coast. The walk is in the park’s southern section. The walk is pretty steep in parts, but terrific views make it worthwhile.
You’ll hike through forest, heathland and age-old sandstone before coming to the best part – negotiating a series of ladders that lead you to the summit and the view.
Take in the captivating sight of cliffs and gorges within the Budawang Wilderness, all carved by the Clyde River. On clear days, you may be able to see as far as Jervis Bay and Bermagui. You might even spot a lyrebird along the final portion of the track, where you can also check out rare Pigeon House Ash eucalypts.
Enjoy some lunch at the top of the mountain, or head back down to the picnic area at the start of the walk for a well-deserved lunch.
