The canals in Placid Lakes are just a short boat ride to the beautiful Lake June in Winter. It is the largest lake in the Lake Placid area with 845 acres which can be used for fishing, boating, tubing, jet skiing, swimming, kayaking, relaxing at the sandbar with friends.

Lake Placid is located in Highlands County, Florida. It is nicknamed the "Town of Murals" and has more than 40 hand-painted murals on buildings around the quaint downtown area. The area is surrounded by several lakes for boating, fishing, jet skiing or birding.

Every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., a visit to Journal Plaza off Main Street is a must see. The Farmer's Market has a delectable assortment of homemade goodness, homegrown produce and crafts. Skip coffee and head to Morty & Edna's for a freshly-baked pastry and coffee. Come a bit later and enjoy a cold microbrew from Wet Dogs and listen to the live music.
