Note there is a more permanent taco truck called next door that has a coveread eating area. Delicious tacos, burritos etc. Walkable.

It has lots of lawn and trees, a playground and wading pool, a cool watertower, a small outdoor ampitheater, the amazing Seattle Asian Art Museum, the famous Black Sun sculpture (part inspiration for Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun song) and is also home to a wonderful old school conservatory for plants and the excellent Volunteer Park Cafe.

Sound Transit Light Rail Station - Best stop if you're coming from or going to the airport solely on public transit. It connects with the #48 Metro bus which has a stop at E. Cherry and 23rd Ave a block from the Sweet Spot.
You can walk on only onto the Water Taxi (passenger or bike only) from downtown's Colman Dock (next to Pier 52) that takes you over to Alki beach area in West Seattle. The ride is super scenic and provides great photo ops. Right at the landing dock is the incredible Marination Ma Kai which serves Hawai style tacos and incredible views back towards the city. From the water taxi dock to Alki Beach proper it's about a 7 to 10 minute flat sidewalk walk. Alki Beach is a huge sandy beach with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. You can rent bikes in the spring and summer, or just enjoy the beach life. It's like Venice Beach, CA minus the palm trees and the body builders. Some evenings you'll catch a local group salsa dancing at sunset on the beach.
