Do not walk around noon without an electrolytes drink
The heat can be under estimated, but it is better not to walk long distances without electrolytes and umbrellas by noon. Locals usually stay at home and nap during that time (12:00 to 2:00), other do not nap but take refills at a cantina ( neighborhood family bars) until the sun goes down. You do the same and stay safe. There is a saying…to the land that you go do what you see them doing.

If you are planing to stay long, then there is nothing better to eat every day that a Cocina Económica, it is neighborhood kitchen. The menu would change every day and is mainly to go or sit w/out AC on a very informal setting. That would not take you from eating homemade food for less than a $100 Mxp including the drink.
