There's many la Chata in GDL. We recommend this one, spacious, with valet during the day, packed but never crowded. This is as traditional Jalisco food as it gets. Can hold large group.

largest market place in GDL, you can literally grocery shop, go to fonda (local eats) and buy all kinds of artisanal crafts all in this plaza. Highly recommend for first time visitor. Boy, I go there everytime I visit GDL and never get tired of doing so.
