The hike through the Oak and Hickory forest to the falls is so pretty. Little Switzerland is about ten minutes away if you want to check it out and grab some food and drink.

Basically, you go past Hawksbill and then turn right where it says Table Rock Picnic Area and continue til you get to the parking lot. 35 miles - 48 minutes drive time from mac and mini. This park boasts the gorgeous High Shoals waterfall, a beautiful 80 foot falls, 40 miles of trails for peeps and bikes. There is a 17 mile loop bike trail. Big Bear Falls is worth checking out and there are places to swim in the creek. This is a fantastic park, I highly recommend it!
