Ancient sea water was trapped there long ago, infused with many minerals over eons of time, which is one of the reasons the water here in Jemez Springs is so special.

Jemez Hot Springs offers four pools maintained at a comfortable 98-105 degrees. Each pool contains therapeutic mineral water from deep beneath the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Ancient sea water was trapped there long ago, infused with many minerals over eons of time, which is one of the reasons the water here in Jemez Springs is so special.
