It is a magical scene; however, it is not located in some commercialized grand theme park, but rather it is in a small woodland, hidden on a side road in the quaint town of Warsaw, Virginia and known to all as “The Enchanted Forest.” Over 30 years ago, Tom Rhodes (the artist) purchased a parcel of land (11 acres) and decided to create an artistic take on an easy walk in the forest. During your hike, you will recognize many fantastical characters. This is loved by all ages. (25 minutes away)

Great selection of fresh local seafood... they’ll steam on-site, or take your fresh seafood home and prepare yourself. They close early and sometimes sellout, so call ahead before you arrive.

Local Food Scene

I'm not sure there's a "food scene" here - there are definitely a few yummy, fun and memorable eats to experience in this part of the country. You will not be disappointed with any place for seafood- it's right from the Bay.

Another wonderful town awaits just north of Irvington on the eastern tip of the Northern Neck. If you have an aspiration for angling, visiting Reedville is a must. It’s a historic fishing village that dates back to the 19th century and still offers plenty of recreational fishing opportunities today. Cast a line and see if you can reel in some brag-worthy striped bass or bluefish. Afterward, soak up some history at the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum with incredible displays inside and unique boats outside at the dock. o Reedville Fishermen's Museum - o Hughlett Point Natural Area - nature and wildlife area

The Steamboat Era Museum opened its doors in 2004. It tells the story of the steamboats and how they altered the lives of everyone along the Chesapeake Bay. The steamboats provided an economic lifeline. The cities of Norfolk and, more predominately, Baltimore acted as gateways to the world beyond. The cities provided the markets, the towns provided the goods, and the steamboats provided a means to both. The era is brought to life with models, artifacts, photos . Here you can step back into time; a romantic time full of adventure, splendor and prosperity. This year! The Pilothouse of the Potomac has been restored and will take pride of place in the museum!

The museum is well done. There are several historic watercraft at their dock, all well maintained. Their boat shop is open and their volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable and cheerfully talk about their projects. In the museum, the models and fishing displays are all superb.
