A town without a brewery is really no town worth visiting for. Luckily we do have one since 1994. German style extensive menu with locally brewed beers (over 20) to accompany your meals is really worth testing.

Now that the busy road has descended into the tunnel, the Mustalahti area is gaining popularity. Ankkuri has quite good pizza's and Kaisla next door offers delicious pasta's on the lakefront. There is also a gelateria (ice cream) in the harbor on summertime.

A real Turkish delight, not just the common kebab that you get everywhere but something you would get actually get in the narrow streets of Istanbul, Turkey. Try at least lamb skewer (Kuzu Sis). They also have a plentiful Sunday brunch, which is delicious though a bit pricy.

Latest Turkish delight on the neighbourhood, and what a delicious addition it is! It's a cafe, but you can still get a proper meal by combining the dishes from the menu. Breakfast served every day, lunch on weekdays.

Getting Around
Most of the city buses to the east (city, train and bus stations) go from the bus stop next to the church. If you are heading to the west or arriving to my apartment, you should use the bus stop in front of the library just across the road.

The Pyynikki park starts from the observation tower and offers shorts walks and magnificient views to the lake Pyhäjärvi. From the tower rest of the city can also be seen from the hights. You should try the famous (and delicious) Pyynikin munkki's while there, too!

The vast forests of Kauppi are local's favorite getaway from the hectic city atmosphere. There are plenty of walking and running trails to choose from. You can ask me for a map to the area or then just head there to wonder on your own!

One of the city's best kept secret is the beautiful beach next to the amusement park. It is difficult to park your car here when Särkänniemi is open, but it's so close that you can leave your car to the apartment and walk. Especially recommended for beautiful sunsets on lake Näsijärvi.

You don't need a library card to use it's facilities, but if you want to borrow something you need to register. The building was fully renovated in 2017 and is one few the architectual marvels of Reima and Raili Pietilä.

You don't need a library card to use it's facilities, but if you want to borrow something you need to register. The building was fully renovated in 2017 and is one few the architectual marvels of Reima and Raili Pietilä.

It's located inside the amusement park, which has free entrance to the area. Visiting the tower costs couple of euros on its own, but if you end up buying a ticket for the rides, the tower is included to the price. On summer time expect problems in parking, so preferred way is to visit the park on foot.
