Fantastic park at the top of a winding road going up to the top of the cliffs in the area. It gives a great view of all of Bancroft from a lookout on the trail and had some interesting information boards to see along the main trail. Lots of hiking trails and in great shape overall. I'd definitely come back to try and get more pictures of the birds enjoying the thermals near the lookout point.

Eagle's Nest Park & Lookout

It gives a great view of all of Bancroft from a lookout on the trail and had some interesting information boards to see along the main trail. Lots of hiking trails and in great shape overall. I'd definitely come back to try and get more pictures of the birds enjoying the thermals near the lookout point.

And a couple of baskets dating back to the 1800's, as well as direct connections to the relations of the people that made the items. Pretry cool to talk Mary, a curator, about her connections to the local Algonquin Definitely not a faceless institute. Worth a visit.

And a couple of baskets dating back to the 1800's, as well as direct connections to the relations of the people that made the items. Pretry cool to talk Mary, a curator, about her connections to the local Algonquin Definitely not a faceless institute. Worth a visit.

Nice park! It goes back quite a ways-I was the only one there when l went even on a busy weekend. I didn't get to explore the whole park, but bring a friend!

A local gem, but not too hidden. A mix of eclectic antiques, and simple cottage decor make this place a must see for all passers by! We have purchased several small items from the store to work on that "OCottage feel"

Great place to explore-whether you want forrest, mini private beaches or climbing over rapids and rock pools. All relatively easy and quick (we spent about 1.5hrs exploring in there, but could be in and out in under an hour if you just go in and out).

Egan Chutes Provincial Park
487 Detlor RoadGreat place to explore-whether you want forrest, mini private beaches or climbing over rapids and rock pools. All relatively easy and quick (we spent about 1.5hrs exploring in there, but could be in and out in under an hour if you just go in and out).
I really liked this park-we stopped in on a drive through. It has a decent play structure (mulch ground cover), picnic tables, bathrooms, swings, skate park, access to a small River, and a canteen. Very pretty and decent shade. We were there in the evening so the businesses were closed. Worth the short walk from downtown to have your picnic here. Parking doesn't appear to be an issue-note that there is the local museum adjacent that shares the parking. Park is not fenced in so keep a watch especially due to the water access.

We came a long way to visit. Met Sonja who was very nice and her puppy.. Beautiful gift shop and a fun experience digging for gems. Wear boots and glasses. Great for kids too. A must when visiting or driving thru area.

wow, what a gem of a course. Bancroft's best kept secret. tucked behind the highway, once you are on the course you think you are far, far away from town and highway. Greens, fairways etc all in very good condition. And, best part-the bar has several beers on tap and a great menu. I will def. be back !!

Greens, fairways etc all in very good condition. And, best part-the bar has several beers on tap and a great menu. I will def. be back !!
The staff here are friendly and are working hard to make improvements on the course. A positive atmosphere to be around. Great for all skill levels.
Lastly, beautiful views all around the course!

Friendly staff, excellent food and drinks! We come here often. This time we had the Chef's choice-battered pickerel with sweet potato fries. It was delicious! Covid 19 protocols were in place so we spent the time out on their patio. Always a great place to people watch as well.

This place has the best service and amazing food! Nathan made our visit to Bancroft so memorable with his outstanding service. He was so accommodating and recommended some great dishes for us. He was so accommodating and recommended some great dishes for us. Especially the fried chicken sandwich. The pizza tasted great. Very cheesy and the pepperoni were huge. Only giving 4 starts bc we ordered an extra large over the phone, when we arrived to pick up they had made us a large Thankfully they made us a small as well to make up for it-just had to wait longer .. But we understood it was a miscommunication and would go back again.

I stopped a block down to pull over, turn my phone data on to check the reviews, saw how everyone raved about the burgers and big crunch and turned around and I'nm so glad we did! We also had been eating veggie while camping so I'm sure indulging in meat again was great but the burgers were MASSIVE and so so delicious along with the fries and salad which we couldn't even eat because we were full from just the burgers! The restaurant serves a mixed variation of German / Polish like cuisine with quality ingredients and distinctive taste features. Food is a plentiful for very affordable price but the meals may not be for everyone taste-wise. Overall, if you like that style of food you will enjoy the place.

A great choice in Bancroft. After many years of cottaging in the area, we decided to try out The Granite. An extensive menu that didn't overwhelm with choice, and the options provided were all desirable or interesting: a good mix of finer dining options along with simpler sandwiches and salads. We lucked out with one of the best tables in the house, right in a picturesque bay window. Service was prompt and courteous. we hot, very fresh and well presented-and most importantly, tasty: Onion petals, chicken stir fry and beef tenderloin. Pricing would be considered aspirational. Live music on the night we were there was an added bonus! Recommended. Our appetizers and meals
