Mountain House Guide to Lake Arrowhead - Things to Explore!
Local Outings and Things to Do
Restaurants – plenty of restaurants to choose from. We like the Lakefront Tap Room as it overlooks the lake, has kid friendly options, and has a good bar! During COVID, most restaurants have limited seating but pretty sure most still offer takeout.
Grassy Area – there’s a grassy area in the middle of the shops where kids can run around, throw a ball, just have fun.
Candy/Ice Cream Shop – theres a fun candy/ice cream shop in the village (if it’s open during COVID!)
Feed the Ducks – buy some duck food from Leroys Boardshop and feed the ducks around the lake.

Seely Creek/Heart Rock (15 min drive from the Mountain House) – super easy for kids and nice and shaded. No bathrooms, off road parking. Creek/river/waterfalls depending on time of year.
Heaps Peak (10 min drive from MH) - more of a walk - educational loop with labeled trees to learn more about the area.

Heart Rock Trail

Cute outdoor patio that offers food as well as beer brewed right in Lake Arrowhead. Right next to the lake if you want to take a nice walk before or after. Just opened Summer 2020. (kids welcomed)

Fishing
The only place you can fish is at Peninsula Park which is right below the ALA main office. Bring our ALA membership card as they will ask for it and you need it to enter the fishing dock. There is a small playground, grassy area with picnic tables, sandy beach for playing and swimming and bathrooms.
