If you don't mind spending quite a little more on shopping, MaxMart is a great place to find lots of things for the home. It is one of the most popular expat supermarkets in Accra. Other branches can be found in Dzorwulu and East Legon.

Work, Social, Food & Drinks

The favourite coworking space of freelancers, entrepreneurs and remote workers in East Legon. Their flexible packages and high speed internet are the two major things that people love about this space. It is located across the street from the A&C Mall. It is also a great place for business meetings, and offers affordable rates to all visitors. The café offers different snacks and food options, to anyone who’s either using the coworking space, or just simply visiting for food or drinks. 여행 팁

경비 절약 방법

Avoid using traditional/local taxis to save more

Use taxi-hailing apps like Uber and Bolt, other than traditional taxis (usually multi-coloured) Traditional taxis charge 2 to 3 times what ride-hailing options charge. Beside the high pricing, They are also not very safe, and most local taxi drivers are not familiar with using Maps to get you to your destination.
관습과 문화

Don't collect things with your left hand

In Ghanaian culture, it is disrespectful to receive something with your left hand when your right hand is not engaged or busy. If you have to do this somehow, be sure to add "sorry for the left" and you will avoid offending anyone.
관습과 문화

Don't wear your cap backward when with the elderly

When with much older people (usually adults who could pass for your parent, an uncle or aunt, or most especially elderly who could pass for grandparents), it is more advisable to wear your cap the normal way and not have it turned backward in their presence. You might come off as 'rogue' or someone with no respect for the elderly if you have your cap on the opposite way.
경비 절약 방법

Avoid expat supermarkets if you can

Supermarkets like MaxMart and Koala, are usually known as "shops for expats" and usually have most items a little pricey than in other shops. If you can, it is better to shop from places where most local people shop. This goes especially for coking ingredients (vegetables, meat, fish, etc) Not all local markets are dirty and extremely crowded. You could also shop from supermarkets like shoprite and Game, as they are relatively cheaper than the other smaller expat supermarkets.

Download ride-hailing apps like Uber & Bolt

Ride-hailing options like Uber and Bolt are a common way to get around if you want to save on some money. You could also opt for car rentals if you have a lot of outings to do each day. Using public transportation like a trotro (pronounced tror-tror) is the most common way local people get around since it's the cheapest option. It is not very safe, since pickpocketing is very common when you're not careful. There are some long buses that offer public transport services as well, similar to trotros. Local taxis are also not very safe and are more costly to use than Uber and the rest.
