Information Centre
One stop shop approx 50 from your cottage. From your front door turn left, cross the road and the building is in the park.
HIGHLY recommend the local history ‘walk-about’ for all ages and abilities.
Its such a lovely centre with everything that showcases the very best in Coromandel. Worth the visit.

A Memorable Adventure
Add these to your days out and about on the Coromandel Peninsula.
One mans dream “Barry Brickell” to build a railway for clay collection has now turned into the greatest and most infamous journey for locals and tourists alike . The train will take you up to the Eyeful Tower that extends views across the waters of the Hauraki Gulf towards Auckland and Whangarei North.
The zip line has recently been added that travels over our native stand forest .
A must visit stepping back in time ... less than 5 mins drive from your cottage.

Oh I nearly forgot to add the friendly Wild Pigs that roam the 309 road.
They are all owned by Stu . He feeds and loves his pigs dearly with each one having a name. If you like, just stop and Stu will be there unless he’s gone shopping for more food! He appreciates coin donations to help keep them healthy.
Definitely a local icon ..

Beaches
Hot Water Beach on the East Coast.
A small spade can be hired from the local shop at hot water beach for a small fee.
Make sure you go at low tide,
1 hour either side of low tide is best. Please take care if you go out swimming as there is a rip. Swim between flags .
It’s true! Make a pool in the sand and watch it fill up with hot water. Approximately
1 1/4hr drive from your cottage.

I love the journey to here and the beaches . There are two as you come down into Waitete Bay. The first one is my favourite but both are very nice depending on what you prefer .

don’t forget Last fuel stop at Colville. The road is unsealed just past Colville but don’t let this put you off !
