Beachside Kitsilano was Vancouver's hippy hangout, drawing comparisons to San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury. Today, Kitsilano still has plenty of culture, but its apartments and houses are now occupied by young urban professionals and families who enjoy a modern version of that relaxed atmosphere – this is the birthplace of global yoga brand, lululemon athletica. Just over the Burrard Bridge from the downtown peninsula, the neighbourhood brings together a collection of attractions, beach and parks, residential streets, and a couple of main commercial districts. “Kits,” as it’s known locally, is bordered by the waterfront to the north and West 16th Ave to the south; Burrard Street to the east and Alma Street to the west. Most of the commercial activity is along West 4th Avenue and West Broadway, but you’ll also find shops and restaurants in the areas close to the beach.

2210 Cornwall AveThe bad: it was busy, there was quite a wait to get in, it was loud. The good: Great service, delicious food. We really enjoyed our meal. Service was timely and friendly. Food came fairly quickly even though it was super busy. Really enjoyed every thing, from the salad to the meatballs to the pizza and the pasta.

Good coffee, good donuts. A little bit expensive, but that's to be expected from a trendy coffee shop like this one.

Make a reservation. The vibe, service, cocktails and food at AnnaLena are, in my opinion, equal or better than any other restaurant in Vancouver. The menu is small, but extremely creative, always changing, and every dish is done very well. You can tell a lot of thought goes into everything they do. The service is attentive, but laid-back and the staff are extremely knowledgable. And even though AnnaLena is such an acclaimed restaurant, you won't experience the pretentious environment or staff that you would at many of Vancouver's other top restaurants. The humble brilliance of AnnaLena sets it apart from the rest.

Reservations are not accepted there so you'd better arrive early to secure a table. Cosy eatery serving large, refined Italian dishes meant for sharing, with gluten-free choices.

The wait might be long but it's the hottest ramen in town. Really liked the customization aspect of the order. The noodles were delicious with the perfect amount of bite. The broth was fantastic. Quick and efficient service. Would definitely go back!
