Beside the fact that you are in the city of San Valentino, Protectors of the Lovers, you can enjoy a lot of other places around, such as parks hosting ancient Roman remains, historic and religious buildings, beautiful and natural landscapes, which Umbria is well known for. Marmore Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Europe. Bus every 10/20 minutes, depart from Rail Station (which is 5 minutes walking from the house) and get to Marmore in 20/30 minutes. It is possible to but a ticket to enjoy the whole tour, which offers: a unique panorama from the highest point, tour of an ancient gallery path called "The Balcony of Lovers" inside the mountain, pic- nic areas, a nice bar on the top of the mountain and several shops at the entrance of the waterfall. There is a large parking area for tourist arriving by car. If you are in Umbria , Marmore Waterfall is a "must see".

Carsulae is an ancient Roman city. It takes 20 minutes to get to the site, from downtown. Here, it is possible to admire what remains of one of the most great and ancient civilization in history. The site is merged in the green of nature. You can step into sheep sometimes. Unfortunately, the streets are not so nice to reach the site but it worths a visit if you are in Terni.
Piediluco is a nice old town, built on the lake. 30 minutes to get here by car, passing through the green landscapes this region offers. Wonderfull views, ancient ruins to visit, tours on boat to enjoy the lake and so many nice places to eat while admiring the panorama.

Assisi is 40 minutes far from Terni, and it is located on Monte Subasio. This ancient roman city is a Christian pilgrimage destination and home to San Francesco (St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan Religious Order and the Patron Saint of Italy) and Santa Chiara (founder of the religious Order of Poor Ladies, also known as the Order of Poor Clares). You can admire here the Basilica of San Francesco, which hosts Giotto artworks (affresco), the Basilica of Santa Chiara, the Cathedral of San Rufino. The Franciscan structures of Assisi are designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
