Just 50km from vipingo are the ruins of one of the oldest Arab civilisation that settled on the coast of East Africa. The town was called Gede. Its overgrown with tropical growth but still worth a visit and spend a pleasant morning exploring.
There is a an entrance fee to support the preservation of the ruins.
