Awesome beach restaurant. Views of the beach and the food and drinks are great. You could also sit on the beach and come up for a few beers/drinks or snack if you run out of them.... They seem to make the best Shrimp Pastalillos that I have had across the island so far.

Contra Viento y Marea Restaurant & Beach Bar
Awesome beach restaurant. Views of the beach and the food and drinks are great. You could also sit on the beach and come up for a few beers/drinks or snack if you run out of them.... They seem to make the best Shrimp Pastalillos that I have had across the island so far.
We time going there for late afternoon/evening and sit on the second floor for drinks or dinner. The view of the beach and seeing folks riding the waves are awesome. Also, we saw our first moonrise there and it was stunning!

We have brought a number of friends over and is our go to restaurant in San Juan. All have raved about the food and the ambience. They have free valet parking. Reservations are recommended.

A great sandwich shop that is a hideaway. The folks there are awesome and friendly. My favourite is the Tripleta with 2 eggs.. One sandwich is large enough for 2 meals.. Please note that after Maria the signs are not up but easily navigable off Rt 3.

Local Brewery - fantastic beer! The owners are friends of ours.
Food Truck - open Friday and Saturday 11AM - 7PM. So delicious!! The owner/chef is a friend of ours.

Experiencing a Chinchorreo Sunday Drive is an experience!
Chinchorreos are fritters. On Sundays, you can start in the mountain town of Cayey and have a combination of Mojitos and various snacks and continue on a series of little stores off the road for more. There are 3 main Chinchirreo routes in PR. One starting in Cayey and ending in Aibonito which is an awesome mountain town, a second that goes from San Juan through the Pinones area up to the Luquillo Kioskos and the third on the western side.
