Great local pub! Lots of gluten-free options and local brews. Located at the local golf course (The Meadows) & only 5 mins from my house.

Local boys doing great! Small venue, but very popular with the locals. Open on Fri-Sun. In the summer, they have outdoor seating and frequently host local food trucks. Small venue (originally an old house, but has many incarnations over the decades). Parking limited, but overfull parking available across the street at the South Monmouth Market.

Grateful Grain Brewing Company
26 ME-126Local boys doing great! Small venue, but very popular with the locals. Open on Fri-Sun. In the summer, they have outdoor seating and frequently host local food trucks. Small venue (originally an old house, but has many incarnations over the decades). Parking limited, but overfull parking available across the street at the South Monmouth Market.
Local grocery store and gasoline station. Great place for staples & carries some local produce. Baked goods, deli, and all the staples.

My favorite farm store & more. Great produce, homemade jams, and, baked goods. About 5 minutes away. (My personal favorites are the chocolate raspberry gluten free cake & mustard pickles!) More than produce & baked goods, the store includes some hand-painted signs and vintage housewares. In the fall, pick your own apples & enjoying the corn maze.

It's the quintessential Maine country corner store. Small, but has the basics. Sandwiches & pizza to go - it's okay. Also a gas station (pay first, then pump) & price is generally pretty reasonable. Across the street from Grateful Grain Brewery. Less than 5 minutes from Buker Pond

Black Crow Bakery is the revitalization of a family business. We bake breads much as Mark's Greek grandfather did: freshly milled flour, slow-rising natural starters, & a wood-burning brick oven. Love their bread! Only 10 minutes drive from Buker Pond.

The scenic countryside Meadows Golf Club was professionally designed by Bradley Booth, designer of other world class courses such as Samoset Resort and The Ledges Golf Club. The course, a 5814 yard – par 68, opened in 1998 with 18 professionally shaped and contoured Bent Grass fairways and greens.
The tree-lined fairways and undulating greens, accented by strategic water hazards and bunkering make for a fun and worthy test of skill for experts and novices alike.

Recommendations for food in nearby towns (15 minute or more drive from Buker Pond). Not a complete list, but places I like or that have been recommended to me. Warning - I always get the baby cone - it's pretty big. A small cone gets you two (large) scoops - if you can't decide which flavor you want!
Good brew (my personal favorite is Stoway IPA) & good pub fare. Located in Lewiston and about 20 minutes away.
