If you are looking for a pub in Shrewsbury - this one overlooks the river, allows dogs outside and has traditional pub food .... what Alistair Sawday's guide says is: On the banks of the river Severn with stunning views - watch the ducks and boats from the terrace, sip a pint, tuck into hearty food Surely one of the best waterside pubs in the country, linked to the centre of Shrewsbury town by a glorious riverside path, this huge historic pub stands on the banks of the Severn overlooking Quarry Park. Swamped in summer (and during very wet winters!), the smart decked terrace and big garden draw the crowds for cool drinks, pretty views and top-notch bar food featuring the best of Shropshire ingredients. On cool days, arrive early to bag a fireside table or one with a river view. Nautical colours, beams and cushioned benches set the scene for pints of Wye Valley and hearty plates of food: local favourite, Shropshire gold battered cod and chips; sharing boards; towering burgers with skin-on fries and coleslaw; Cornish ice cream. Service is friendly, and summer brings festivals galore: flowers, food, dragon boat races ...

Restaurants Shrewsbury

This is one of favourite places to have a meal at anytime - food is excellent - all local produce, combined into some really interesting dishes. Love how the menu gives you the choice of small and large plates so you can have a couple of small plates if you can't decide!

Great Seafood Restaurant in Shewsbury
This is a Nepalese restaurant in the centre of Shrewsbury and I have never been disappointed when I have eaten there - the food is great and the staff really friendly - highly recommend. Recent review..... Having earned a recommendation from The Guardian, Avatar aims to present refined Nepalese and Indian food from disparate regions. Authenticity is key and service is friendly and highly efficient. Susant trained as a chef at the Taj and Oberoi, which has hotels across many locations in India and Nepal, before working at some of London’s most prestigious Indian restaurants, including Cinnamon Club, in Westminster. The emphasis is on refined yet creative Nepalese and Indian cuisine and the menu incorporates both traditional classic favourites and original new dishes that apply eastern flavours with a western twist. They utilise India and Nepal’s aromatic herbs, spices and other ingredients, to give dishes plenty of character.

Book Taxis in Advance...

A number of recent guests - especially ones that have been here to attend a nearby wedding have had problems booking a taxi on the night . So I would advise pre-booking your taxi to avoid a long wait. The taxi companies are in Shrewsbury - when writing this Star Cars and GoCarz are listed - sorry I cannot add their tel nos here as Airbnb do not permit it but the taxis are easy to look up on line. If the taxi is having trouble finding the The Old Dairy - tell the driver that the Old Dairy at Fitz is marked on g....... maps!
