Very lucky to have so many things to see and do around us. Huntsville (20 mins south) is perhaps the best Muskoka town, with everything all in one place.
Arrowhead Provincial Park is a gem, only 10 mins away. Great for hiking, cross country skiing, and even winter skating through their 2.5 km ice trail.

Only 15 mins north on hwy 11, in the town of Sundridge, Ont. this location needs reservations, but is worth it. Go hungry, and plan to bring left overs home for later!

Year round open (the best french onion soup around) but the real gift is the 3 level patio for spring, summer and fall. Situated right on the water in Downtown Huntsville. People travel by car and by boat to this gem. (dock parking for about 30 boaters) You may be in Huntsville, but you get the feel of being in Orlando's entertainment district while here. Wintertime, their indoor space is cozy and rustic. Highly recommended! And while there, you can shop the main street in Huntsville

On The Docks Pub

Definitely not a "chain" restaurant. Their recipes are house made. Their coleslaw served has some apple in it, their dressings are unique, and their pizza is wood oven baked (thin crust)
Something for everyone, but if you're looking for a healthy lunch, try their Smoked Salmon Salad with crnaberries, pumpkin seeds, smoked gouda cheese, and blueberry sherry vinaigrette.

50 Main Street EastDefinitely not a "chain" restaurant. Their recipes are house made. Their coleslaw served has some apple in it, their dressings are unique, and their pizza is wood oven baked (thin crust)

Novar (10mins away) is located on the West side of Hwy 11 - where you get off the highway for our cottage. Here you'll find Novar's grocery store. Formerly called Foodland, it is now recently called Hope's Grocery Store. It also has a bakery and large LCBO liquor offerings. Check hours before heading out.
There is also a convenience store 10 mins east in Kearney that has an LCBO.

Formerly called Foodland, it is now recently called Hope's Grocery Store. It also has a bakery and large LCBO liquor offerings. Check hours before heading out.
