(countertop sandwich service) Zunzi’s is a perfect stop for lunch in between activities downtown. You can recognize the countertop service restaurant by the assortment of flags out front and a long line of patrons right around noon. Recommended: Boerewors on a roll, which is a South African sausage with gravy, onions and mustard on a roll. Sounds weird but its damn good! $ Lunch/Dinner (11AM-9PM, closed Sunday)

2430 Habersham St(well done pub fare/burgers): Located less than a mile from the apartment. Green Truck has local, fresh, homemade bar food. Great burgers, fries, and beer. Just walk out the front door, turn right on Henry, in a couple blocks turn left on Abercorn, and a half mile down on the left you’ll find it. Don’t have the energy? Stop a few blocks short at our next recommended restaurant, Blowin’ Smoke. $$ Lunch/Dinner (until 11PM, closed Sunday)

With their famous 7 days a week brunch (did someone say bottomless mimosas?) and delicious dinners, this gastropub fills up quickly. Be sure to call ahead to make sure they haven't filled up for the day as this often happens.

I’ll just go ahead and put River Street down as one big bar since that is what it is. Our first night in Savannah we got pie-eyed on the cobblestone river walk. Keep the tradition alive and stroll down to River Street, spill a Wet Willie’s daiquiri all over your shirt, and enjoy the crowds. A good place to start is The Warehouse where they typically have live music at night.

Great place to learn about the beer brewing process as well as sample great local beers. Open Wednesday-Friday at 5:30 and Saturday at 12. Tours of the brewery are offered and there is sometimes live music. Also, one Saturday mid-morning they host Pints and Poses, Yoga followed by a pint of beer!

Located on top of the Cotton Sail, this bar overlooks River Street and the Savannah Bridge. A great place to have a cocktail and watch the sunset. They also have a light dinner menu.

Great for a day trip outside of Savannah. Its about 1.5 hours south but worth the trip, the beach is also dog friendly. The beach is full of driftwood trees and perfect for great pictures. Also, the rest of Jekyll Island is worth checking out including the lighthouse and Georgia Sea Turtle Center.
