This National park is ideal due to its location along a fabulous scenic road from which joins the 2 picturesque towns of Westport, Co. Mayo & Clifden, Co. Galway, * via Leenaune (killary Fjord) & the stunning Kylemore Abbey
There are various length looped trails to suit any ability or preference, on the gentle slopes of "Diamond hill" that begin at the visitor centre beside the pretty village of Letterfrack.
But for experienced hikers there are much longer and challenging trails further into the national park.

Owned by Matt, the flute player for "the Chieftans" Internationally renowned Irish Trad Music group, who often turns up to join a casual collection of musicians who start playing trad music "session" any time of the day or night.
You may not always find a music "session" there, but there is always a great relaxed & homely atmosphere.
