If you're heading north for anything, we definitely recommend checking Handel's out! They are from our home state of Ohio and it's honestly some of the best ice cream you'll ever get!!! We definitely find time to take a trip up there every now and then.

Sightseeing
La Jolla is a great place to check out while visiting. Beautiful views and lots of really neat shops. And you'll probably get to see the sea lions while you're there too!
