In the historical center, around the Acropolis, you can have a very nice walk or a coffe or meel. Plaka is the most beautiful part of this area, with picturesque alleys and beautiful architecture. Thisio is an other very nice part of the historical center. If you take the Dionysiou Areopagitou st., which is a beautiful pedestrian area around the Acropolis, and continue to the Apostolou Paulou st., you will arrive in Thission, in a spot with very nice cafes and restaurants, from where you can see the Acropolis. If you continue from that point, you will find yourself in the Thissio metro station, where the Adrianou st. begins.This is also a pedestrianized street with nice cafes and restaurants. Behind Adrianou St. is Monastiraki, an area with many shops and antique stores, mainly in Avissinias Square, where is also a very nice cafe.

Getting Around
At the corner of Panepistimiou and Rigas Fereos st. is the nearest metro station (about 15 minutes walk). From there it's one stop to Syntagma Square and two stops to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, going to the direction of "Elliniko". If you want to go by metro to Monastiraki or Thisio, you change at Syntagma station to the blue metro line, going to the direction of "Agia Marina".
To go to the port, you take the metro to the direction of "Anthoupoli" and ride it for one stop (Omonia Square). There you take the railway that brings you directly to the port of Piraeus... Near to Omonia Square, at Menandrou st., you can take also the bus line 051, that brings you directly to the intercity bus terminal...
