A fascinating and idiosyncratic museum which John Soane built as his home in 1792-1812. There is a lovely cafe in Lincon's Inn Fields across the road. Also adjacent and interesting for walking around are the ancient 'Inns of Court' where barristers and lawyers have their chambers - quintisentially Dickensian although the buildings are pre-Victorian.

The canalside steps are a popular hang-out in good weather. The University of the Arts London is housed in this nineteenth century grain store. The public are welcome to wander in as far as the atrium. The fountains are magnificent especially at night.

This C19th railway station was beautifully restored in 2007. It is a fine example of the great age of the railways. There are now plenty of shops and places to eat as well as the direct, high speed rail connections to continental Europe.
