So, do you know what happened to the Lost Colony? The park also has replica of the ship and the Elizabethan gardens. During the summer, an excellent amphitheater presentation of "the lost colony."

T.W.'s has been our tackle shop for decades. Their first shop is just a few hundred feet away. At last count they had 4 locations. If you're a fisherman or hunter, you gotta visit.

A fisherman's paradise
Wonderful display of creatures mostly native to NC waters. Also hands on aquarium and occasional special exhibits. Incredible for children and shoreline view of the lost colony fort was located now underwater.

If you came in on route 158 through Currituck County you passed the park, Crayola colored tubes. we haven't tried it yet but its on our to do list. Bring you wallet.

Very large sand dune, there's even hang gliding classes on a not too high peak. There is a long sandy path from the State Park lot. One could park at Kitty Hawk Kites and cross the street to the dune.

One of the famous OBX light houses. Great experience, Please note: go early in the summer to avoid late afternoon summer thunderstorms. The park will close the lighthouse within a ten radius of a storm.
