Inside is sports bar atmosphere which gets smoke filled on weekend nights. Outside seating has mist water cooling fans which is nice. Good Food. My favorite is the Pierstrami -- best Reuben sandwich ever. The Poor Boys are good, and they have fantastic Hamburgers. Popular biker pit stop. Place to go for Sports Watching, Biker Watching :), Live Music and Karaoke Nights. Minors can stay in the restaurant/bar until 9:00PM.

I had the Chicken Alfredo on a different night and it tasted like processed food Alfredo. There are some window shields for wind, but I did not get one, so the food got cold right away as the gulf wind can be strong. They do not have a water filtration system, so you have to pay for bottled water. The service is really slow. That being said, it is a brand new establishment so I will give it some grace for just opening. The mayor of Surfside Village owns the establishment.

The worst service ever. I have left twice from waiting so long just to get someone's attention -- and there was only one other customer there! I can't tell you how the food tastes, I just did not have 1/2 of a day of precious beach time to spare.

Gaido's: Expensive Landmark Restaurant on the Seawall. I have never been disappointed. Delicious - all of it. Worth the Drive for a Romantic Evening.///

I would rent a Golf Cart from Jack Green. He is reliable and takes care of any issues quickly. He will drop off and pick up the cart for you at your convenience. Reserve early during peak times during the summer. The Golf Cart Path starts at the end of the street and will take you all the way to the Jettys.

If you want full scale shopping, movie theaters, restaurants etc., you will need to travel 15 minutes to Lake Jackson. Surfside is a sleepy little beach community.

A great place to watch kids play, have a picnic, watch the big ships come into port or fish off the Jetty. If you go early you can see dolphins swimming. This is also a popular fishing spot. When my girls where younger they loved to watch the large ships from all over the world, being pulled by the tug boats and sometimes escorted by the Coast Guard :). There is a rocky area near the public beach where the crabbing is good. If you reach in the cracks of the rocks you can get small conch shells. This is also the best place for waves if you want to surf.

(There is a kayak and boat launch a short distance from the house on the bay side that you will see prior to the nature trail).
BEACHES: There are 3 main beaches.
Pedestrian Beach: No cars or golf carts are allowed on the beach. Jetty Park is located at the end of the beach. During High Tide there is not much beach left from all the erosion.
Middle Beach: You can drive on the Beach. At times there is soft sand. If trucks are getting stuck, common sense would be that little cars are going to -- but some people have to learn the hard way.
Swan Lake: is the beach just West of Middle Beach and is where my house is located. Since it is located at the end of the three beaches, but is before the Public Beach Access to beaches further west on Blue Water Hwy, it is the least crowded.
