This is our local diner. Easy stop on the way in or out of town for breakfast or lunch. I don't recommend their BBQ but their burgers are solid and their chocolate milk shake is delicious.

Big Rock Creek is only 10 minutes West of the ranch and is a great place to escape the heat during the summer. Parking is free and no Adventure Pass is needed to enjoy the pools of cold snowmelt along the stream. The portion of the creek at the beginning of Big Rock Creek Road can be crowded on the weekends, but if you drive further along the road you can find a more private spot to enjoy the creek. There are no public restrooms, so be sure to go before you leave.

This is the kind of place that only exists in the desert. The shop is full of everything from local honey to toys. Have some BBQ or a date shake. Seasonal produce available. Fun for kids. Kind of overwhelming for adults. :)

Sightseeing
The abbey is open to the public and is a nice place to take a walk. Beautiful gardens, lots of sculpture. There is a small ceramics shop selling religious art.
