Out FAVOURITE cafe, ever! One of the reasons we moved to the area. The food is all created fresh using local sourced ingredients. Is a good price and fantastic quality. They have a menu board to check and stop serving food at 3pm. They are happy to offer half sizes for the kids. There is also a selection of toys and books.

Our favourite hidden gem. A cafe that has a library inside. This means you can oder drinks, cakes and lunch and then also get your reading fix. Great kids section and they offer kids menu. Really peaceful and on a sunny day you can sit outside and look over the park.

Rowntree Park Reading Cafe
Richardson Street Our favourite hidden gem. A cafe that has a library inside. This means you can oder drinks, cakes and lunch and then also get your reading fix. Great kids section and they offer kids menu. Really peaceful and on a sunny day you can sit outside and look over the park.
This restaurant constantly receives high reviews and when we dined there we saw why. It is very much a place to book, and is also much more couple/adult focused. Really exquisite food and most sourced locally. Good vegetarian options

Our favourite Italian (well Sicilian to be precise). All food is fantastic here. Their ice cream is home made (and they allow tasting before which my kids love). Some vegetarian options but plenty for the whole family. I don't think they have a decimated children's menu but they are always happy to serve half portions.

27 Bishopthorpe Rd Our favourite Italian (well Sicilian to be precise). All food is fantastic here. Their ice cream is home made (and they allow tasting before which my kids love). Some vegetarian options but plenty for the whole family. I don't think they have a decimated children's menu but they are always happy to serve half portions.

Our local fish and chip shop - does take away and has a small seated area. They offer good size portions, and kids menus are available.
