For quick and fancy groceries, a green juice, cheap-but decent-coffee or a sushi triangle, head to Green Ivy (walk on Union Street to 4th Ave, turn right and walk on block to President Street (you’ll pass a 99cent store on your way that’s surprisingly comprehensive and will probably have a replacement for nearly anything you’ve forgotten to bring.)

This huge and gorgeous crown jewel of south Brooklyn is a great place for an early morning jog, mid-afternoon picnic, family bike ride or evening stroll. GREAT dog run too! In the Summer,,,there are often free concerts and movies.

Super secret, high-end Knife Store. They only make six or seven knives a WEEK! But for all of the hoopla, these guys are REALLY lovely and so passionate about their craft...if you pop in, they'll be very happy to chat with you for a LONG time about it.

So simple and SO GOOD. Little buttery pasta pockets of starchy goodness. Make sure to get a side of Helen's Dip...I could drink that stuff.
