An absolute must if you are visiting Scarborough. In the summer the area around the boating lake and Japanese garden is busy with families and tourists. You can hire a boat or pedalo on the lake and buy meals, snacks and ice-creams at the café. Each afternoon there is either free musical entertainment or the naval warfare show (fee payable). Away from the lake, follow the beck up through the park for a beautiful, tranquil, shady walk.
