Natural area parks, scenic Myakka River, and beaches in the Venice area are all close by. Sarasota and Englewood beaches are not too distant, to round our your beach experiences, but the Venice beaches are stunning and not far!
To avoid the doggy part of the preserve, head across Border Road, to the south side of STPN and enjoy the tranquility of a less traveled path.

Marie Selby Botanical Garden is an emerald in the city of Sarasota. Verdant landscapes contrast with the stunning Sarasota Bay waterfront. Orchids and other tropical plants from their world-recognized epiphyte collection are artfully displayed in the conservatory. Special exhibits are scheduled throughout the year.

Orchids and other tropical plants from their world-recognized epiphyte collection are artfully displayed in the conservatory. Special exhibits are scheduled throughout the year.
Over 24,000 acres of wilderness provide the adventure-seeker endless opportunities to see alligators, wading birds, eagles, deer and other local native animals. Trails can be easy for novice bikers or hikers, or of a higher level of difficulty as the "Boldy-go" bike trail. Be prepared if you are long-distance hikers or bikers, as this truly is a wilderness, with some amenities only close to the parking area. FREE!

Trails can be easy for novice bikers or hikers, or of a higher level of difficulty as the "Boldy-go" bike trail. Be prepared if you are long-distance hikers or bikers, as this truly is a wilderness, with some amenities only close to the parking area. FREE!

Enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the jetty, like most visitors to Venice, and even some locals. Fishing is great from the jetty. Amenities include a mix of the old and the new. Drum circles occur twice weekly on this Casey Key beach. It's less than 20 minutes and 10 miles from our cottage.

Enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the jetty, like most visitors to Venice, and even some locals. Fishing is great from the jetty. Amenities include a mix of the old and the new. Drum circles occur twice weekly on this Casey Key beach. It's less than 20 minutes and 10 miles from our cottage.

Sports
Beaches for swimming or shelling, golfing at public or private courses, and the new Atlanta Braves Stadium are less than 20 minutes from our cottage. We are beautifully situated between two I-75 interchanges, Exits 191 and 193, whether you want to travel north to Tampa or south to the Jet Blue Stadium to see the Sox in spring training.
We are close to all the seasonal hustle and bustle, but also a quiet retreat from it all. Relax in the cottage after a busy day.
The new, Atlanta Braves Stadium, CoolToday Park offers dining, socializing, and spring training among other activities.
